Prerequisites
Students of this subject must be in possession of a bachelor's degree in which they have acquired the basic knowledge and skills that empower them to attend the master's program: basic training in Spanish Language and Literature or related disciplines, management of bibliographic instruments and mastery of the Spanish language that allows them to write papers in scientific Spanish.
Objectives
The aim of the module is to study the normative features of Spanish and the relationship established between them and the use of the language. Students will be introduced to the criteria and processes followed at different times to establish the codification of the Spanish language and will analyze the arguments that support the view of a polycentric normative of the language and the interaction of this concept with the use by speakers. The concept of panhispanism and its implications in the consideration of the norm and usage will also be studied.
Learning outcomes
- Diferenciar els mecanismes mentals associats a l'adquisició de la llengua materna dels associats a l'adquisició de les llengües estrangeres.
- Aplicar a discursos orals les tècniques pròpies del comentari lingüístic de textos.
- Comparar diferents models explicatius dels problemes lingüístics objecte d'estudi en el mòdul.
- Argumentar la pertinència o la no pertinència dels diferents estudis que han abordat els problemes lingüístics analitzats en el mòdul.
- Formular un pla d'acció orientat a completar la informació sobre els aspectes lingüístics analitzats en el mòdul i planificar les seves etapes de desenvolupament.
- Reconèixer, avaluar i corregir els usos incorrectes de la llengua espanyola.
- Justificar els motius pels quals determinades opcions en la puntuació, en la gramàtica, en l'elecció del lèxic i en l'organització textual resulten preferents.
- Identificar les fronteres que separen els usos normatius dels usos relacionats exclusivament amb la variació lingüística.
- Interpretar de forma crítica la bibliografia sobre la qual es basen les decisions relacionades amb la codificació lingüística en espanyol.
- Interpretar lingüísticament els errors comesos pels parlants no natius en el procés d'adquisició com indicis de l'estadi de la seva interllengua.
- Enjudiciar diferents hipòtesis explicatives d'alguns dels problemes literaris abordats en el mòdul.
- Elaborar un estat de la qüestió d'un tema lingüístic i d'un tema literari de l'àmbit d'estudi del mòdul.

The student must carry out a continuous monitoring of the subject.
In order to achieve the stated objectives, theoretical explanations will be combined by the teacher with the completion of exercises and with the discussion of certain aspects related to the contents, which entails the active participation of the students.
This subject allows the use of AI technologies as an integral part of the submitted work, provided that the final result reflects a significant contribution from the student in terms of analysis and personal reflection. The student must clearly (i) identify which parts have been generated using AI technology; (ii) specify the tools used; and (iii) include a critical reflection on how these have influenced the process and final outcome of the activity. Lack of transparency regarding the use of AI in the assessed activity will be considered academic dishonesty; the corresponding grade may be lowered, or the work may even be awarded a zero. In cases of greater infringement, more serious action may be taken.

EVALUATION
The evaluation consists of two theoretical-practical tests carried out in class (35% for each test) and a short written work (5 to 10 pages) on one of the normative aspects worked on in class. To obtain the average, each of the grades must exceed at least 3.5. Any spelling and expression errors that may be made will result in a lowering of the final grade.
The works presented in the course must be original and under no circumstances will total or partial plagiarism of other people's material published in any medium be admitted. The presentation of non-original material without adequately indicating its origin will automatically result in a failing grade (0).
It is also considered that the student knows the general rules for the presentation of an academic paper. However, he/she may apply the specific rules that may be indicated by the professor of the subject.
