Prerequisites
To study the major French literature I, it is necessary to have an aficionado for reading and planning the necessary time to learn first hand - as well as student - for the program.
Objectives
The inscription Great Obres de la Literature Française I offers an introduction to the classic texts of French Literacy. Through the detailed reading, the textual analysis and the interpretative debate of three other scholars, the alumnado acquires the necessary instruments to form a reader with a critical outlook. When finalizing the signature, the alumnado will be able to:
Demonstrate optimal reading comprehension of student literary texts.
Demonstrate a good understanding of the sociohistorical, cultural and aesthetic coordinates of the text messages.
Valorar orally and by writing the literary texts using a solid argument.
Utilize bibliographic resources adequately when available.
Learning outcomes
- Identifying main and supporting ideas and expressing them with linguistic correctness.
- Maintain an attitude of respect for the opinions, values, behaviors and practices of others.
- In a responsible and reasoned way, apply the appropriate computer techniques for the consultation and management of specific documentary sources.
- Identify and explain the basic features of literary texts
- Distinctiate and assemble the basic critical bibliography that makes up the field of study of a work or author of French-language literature.
- Present arguments and evaluate the relevance of the analysis of a linguistic, literary or cultural phenomenon.
- Produce works in which the fundamental digital and bibliographic tools for the field of study are applied.
- Identify the context in which historical and cultural processes are inscribed.
- Demonstrating a personal stance over a problem or controversy of philosophical nature.
- Acquire an awareness of the diachronic dimension of French and of the conditions of creation, dissemination and preservation of major French literary texts belonging to the initial stages of the language.
- Use the techniques of literary commentary.
- Identifying and explaining the basic characteristics of literary texts and the interpretation process.

The course is structured into three units. Each unit is dedicated to one of the three required reading works.

To achieve the established objectives, this course is delivered through lectures and interpretative debates.
- To participate in the interpretative debates, it is essential to have read the texts and completed the corresponding activities before each session.
- Students are expected to regularly access the Virtual Campus/Moodle and must stay informed about the information published there.
- All deadlines for activities will be confirmed in class at the beginning of the course and must be respected.
Annotation: Within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.
