Prerequisites
At the beginning of the year, students must be able to :
- Understand different types of somewhat complex written texts from different domains, and perceive their stylistic differences and diatopic variety.
- Write different types of texts about general topics from different domains.
- Understand different types of somewhat complex oral texts from different domains, and perceive their diastratic variety.
- Produce different types of somewhat complex oral texts about general topics from different domains.

The objective of this subject is to continue the development of students' communication skills in their C language
- to prepare them to perform general or specialised direct translation in different domains.
- to understand different types of oral texts from different domains, and perceive their stylistic differences, diatopic variety, etc.
- to produce complex oral texts adapted to different communicative contexts

To achieve the established objectives, this subject mainly involves practical classes based on a communicative approach.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT
- The schedule of tests will be announced well in advance and cannot be modified. Incoming exchange students who request to take an exam earlier must submit to the lecturer a written document from their home university justifying their request. In duly justified cases, the test that a student was unable to attend may be taken on the date scheduled for the single assessment.
SINGLE ASSESSMENT
- Students may opt for single assessment in accordance with the requirements and conditions set out in the academic regulations. This involves submitting, on a single date, the necessary number of assessment tasks to demonstrate and guarantee the achievement of the course objectives and learning outcomes.
- Students must submit the electronic application within the deadline established by the Faculty.
- Single assessment will take place on a single day. On the day of the assessment, teaching staff will request identification; students must present a valid identity document with a recent photograph (student ID card, national ID, or passport).
- The single assessment will consist of the following components:
1. Reading assessment: 20%
2. Listening assessment : 20%
3. Speaking assessment 20 %
4. Writing assessment: 20%
5. Grammar and vocabulary assessment: 20%
- The same resit system as for continuous assessment will apply.
REVIEW AND FAILED ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
- At the time each assessment activity is carried out, the lecturer will inform students (via Moodle) of the procedure and date for reviewing marks.
- In order to be eligible for the resit, students must have previously been assessed on a set of activities whose weight is equivalent to at least two-thirds of the total grade. The resit will consist of a final comprehensive exam. Only students who have failed and obtained a minimum final average mark of 3.5 out of 10 will be eligible.
- Oral presentations, tasks related to regular teaching activities, and the submission of coursework are excluded from the resit.
- Students may retake assessment activities they have failed or compensate for any they have missed, provided that those they have actually performed account for a minimum of 66.6% (two thirds) of the subject's final mark and that they have a weighted average mark of at least 3.5.
- The lecturer will inform students of the procedure involved, in writing, when publishing final marks prior to recording them on transcripts. The lecturer may set one assignment per failed or missed assessment activity or a single assignment to cover a number of such activities. Under no circumstances may an assessment activity worth 100% of the final mark be retaken or compensated for.
CLASSIFICATION AS "NOT ASSESSABLE"
- In the event of the assessment activities a student has performed accounting for just 25% or less of the subject's final mark, their work will be classified as "not assessable" on their transcript.
MISCONDUCT IN ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES
- Any irregularity committed by a student that may lead to a significant alteration of the grade of a given assessment activity will result in a mark of 0 for that activity, regardless of any disciplinary proceedings that may arise. If several irregularities are detected in the assessment activities of the same course, the final grade for the course will be 0.
- This subject entirely prohibits the use of AI technologies in all of its activities. Any submitted work that contains content generated using AI will be considered academic dishonesty; the corresponding grade will be awarded a zero, without the possibility of reassessment. In cases of greater infringement, more serious action may be taken.
- In case of doubt, teaching staff will propose an interview with the students involved, during which they must justify their answers and the reasoning behind the submitted tests or exercises.
