Prerequisites

To study this subject, it is advisable to have a practical base in the field of Body Expression.

Objectives

Students should be able to:

1- Develop expression and communication capabilities of the body.

2- Develop creative possibilities for individual work in a group.

3- Learn to build a fictional and dramatic space as a place of application and experimentation of the mechanisms of expression-body communication

4- Master the basic procedures for teaching Corporal Expression in Primary Education.

5- Acquire favorable attitudes toward an educational conception of corporal expression, essential for the integral formation of the person.

Learning outcomes

  1. Obtaining the PE resources that encourage inclusive education in contexts of diversity.
  2. Understand personal differences that arise in PE activities as an aspect to be dealt with using educational criteria.
  3. Establish work teams to develop activities independently.
  4. Using ICTs and CLTs to search for information and to develop and draw up practical work and didactic proposals in the field of Physical Education.
  5. Using motor skills and body language as elements pertaining to communication skills.
  6. Programming, organising and applying learning and contents in education for health in physical education health education, designing and developing educational projects or programming units that make it possible to adapt the physical education curriculum to the school and promote the quality of the contexts.
  7. Adapt teaching and learning programs and activities to pupil diversity, also considering pupils with special educational needs.
  8. Incorporating the motor skills, body expression, physical conditioning, play and sporting activities as content of school physical education and sequencing them throughout primary education.
  9. Sequencing perception-motor capabilities throughout primary school teaching according to the internal logic of this content.
  10. Identify the social, economic and environmental implications of academic and professional activities within one?s own area of knowledge.
  11. Analyse the indicators of sustainability of academic and professional activities in the areas of knowledge, integrating social, economic and environmental dimensions.
  12. Propose viable projects and actions to boost social, economic and environmental benefits.
  13. Propose ways to evaluate projects and actions for improving sustainability.

- Body Expression and Body Language.


- Body expressiveness as the study of movement in space.


- Body expressiveness as the study of movement in space occupied by others.


- The expressive exploration of time.


- The expression of emotions, sensations, and experiences through body language.


- Dance and expressive practices as cultural and educational manifestations.


- Measurement and evaluation of human expressiveness.


- Creation of fictional spaces as a platform for applying different resources of body expressiveness.

  • In one of the last classes, students will dedicate 15 'to respond to the surveys about the evaluation of teaching activity and on the subject.




Annotation: within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

Individual


- Work, in writing, critical reflection on show of theater/dance (20%). Date: December 21, 2026. Re-assessment: January 18, 2027.

- Teaching micro-intervention (10%). Period: November 2026. Non-re-assessable activity.




Small groups


- Expressive creations (20%). Date: November 30, 2026. Re-assessment: January 18, 2027.

- Artistic and expressive Project (30%). Date: December 21, 2026. Re-assessment: January 18, 2027.




Important observations


To pass the course:


- Should attend (at least) 80% of the contact hours.



- In the preparation of the work on the shows (20%), the use of artificial intelligence technology (IA) is not allowed in any of its phases. Not to respect this rule, it will be considered a lack of academic honesty and will entail a suspension in the work (numerical note less than 5).



- It is necessary to show, in all the propesties, a good communicative competence in general - itally and written by written - and a good dominion of the language in which the subject is taught.






SINGLE ASSESSMENT


This course includes a single assessment; however, it is important to note that this option does not exempt students from attending at least 80% of the sessions.



EVALUATION ACTIVITIES AND DELIVERY DATE/COMPLETION



- Written exam on the contents of the subject (50%).


- Individual realization of an artistic-expressive project (50%) The project will consist of two parts (practice+ theoretical):


  • Practical part (30%): From a specific topic and within the scope of theater/dance, an important work will have to be developed, to be represented.
  • Theoretical part (20%): prepare in writing a proposal similar to the project presented, adapted to Primary Education Stage

In case of a second enrollment (or more), the evaluation of the subject is not contemplated with a synthesis test.
