Assessment
Continuous assessment activities
| Title | Weight | Hours | ECTS | Learning outcomes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BLOCK 1: CURRICULUM (27,5% individual + 22,5 colective) | 50% | 0 | 0 | CA55, CA56, CA59, KA38, KA39, KA41, SA48, SA50 |
| BLOCK 2: INNOVATION (24% individual + 16% colective) | 40% | 0 | 0 | CA55, CA58, CA59, KA39, KA41, SA48, SA50, SA52 |
| BLOCK 3: INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH IN MUSIC EDUCATION (10% individual) | 10% | 0 | 0 | CA59, SA50, SA52 |
To pass this course, the student must demonstrate strong general communicative competence, both orally and in writing, as well as a solid command of the Catalan language.
The assessment of this module is divided into 3 blocks: CURRICULUM (50%), INNOVATION (40%), and RESEARCH (10%). Each of these contains different tasks and assessment activities, with percentages corresponding to 100% of the value of each block:
EVALUATION BLOCK 1 CURRICULUM (50%)
20% Exam on the curriculum (individual) (last week before Christmas)
Individual test aimed at assessing knowledge and understanding of the main concepts of the curriculum, as well as the ability to interpret its different elements and establish relationships between them.
20% Practical cases (in pairs) (in November, before the internship)
Resolution of two practical cases related to professional situations typical of teaching music in secondary school. The ability to apply the curriculum, justify the decisions taken and argue proposals coherent with the context presented will be assessed.
25% Design of a learning situation (in pairs or trios) (last week of January)
Elaboration of a complete, contextualized and curricularly based learning situation. The proposal must coherently integrate the different elements of the curriculum and justify the main didactic and evaluation decisions adopted.
20% Individual oral defense of the learning situation (between the internship and Christmas)
Each student will make an individual oral defense of the learning situation prepared by their group, answering questions related to the curricular, didactic and evaluation decisions adopted. The ability to argue, justify and adapt the proposal to different educational contexts will be particularly valued.
15% Digital portfolio (individual) (the last week of February)
Throughout the module, students will prepare a digital portfolio that will collect different brief evidence aimed at documenting their learning process and the construction of their criteria and professional teaching identity. The quality of the reflections, the ability to establish connections between the contents worked on and the teaching practice itself, as well as the evolution of pedagogical thinking throughout the subject will be valued.
EVALUATION BLOCK 2 INNOVATION (40%)
35% Collective musical innovation project. (between the second and third week of January)
Design and development of a globalizing, interdisciplinary and contextualized project in which music acts as the backbone of a proposal for a classroom, center or relationship with the environment. Group activity and non-recoverable.
15% Monitoring diary of the committees (co-evaluation). (during the third or fourth week of February)
Documentation of the work developed by the different committees during the eight sessions of the collective project and co-evaluation of classmates. Group activity and non-recoverable.
50% Individual face-to-face challenge of musical innovation (between the second and third week of Genary)
Individual and face-to-face practical test in which the student must design a proposal for musical innovation based on a contextualized case.
EVALUATION BLOCK 3 INITIATION TO RESEARCH (10%)
Content test (during the last research session)
- Evaluation test of the fundamental contents linked to the methodological and instrumental principles of research, aimed at verifying the achievement of the basic skills necessary for the design, planning and execution of the Master's Thesis (TFM).
To pass the module, a minimum grade of 3.5 must be obtained in each of the three assessment blocks and a final grade equal to or greater than 5.
The exam on the curriculum, the practical cases, the individual oral defense of the learning situation and the digital portfolio are retrievable. The learning situation is not retrievable, given its nature of group work developed throughout the module. In the Innovation block, the monitoring diary and the project are non-retrievable activities due to the face-to-face and group nature of the task. Retrievable will take place on the date established by the academic calendar. The maximum grade that can be obtained is 5.
A student will be considered Not Assessable if he/she has not been assessed on activities that represent, at least, two thirds of the final grade for the module.
This subject allows the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies as an integral part of the development of the work, provided that the final result reflects a significant contribution by the student in the analysis and personal reflection. The student must identify the use made, the tools used and include a critical reflection on their impact on the process and the final result. The lack of transparency in the use of AI will be considered a lack of academic honesty.
According to UAB regulations, plagiarism, copying or the use of AI without declaring it when mandatory will be penalized in accordance with current regulations.
This module does not provide for the completion of a synthesis test for second-year students.
Issues not provided for in this section will be governed by the current assessment regulations of the Faculty of Education Sciences and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Title IV: Assessment. Version according to the modifications approved by agreement of the Governing Council of July 12, 2017 (http://www.uab.cat/web/informacio-academica/avaluacio/normativa-1292571269103.html)
- The assessment activities will be returned with the grade and the corresponding feedback within a maximum period of 20 working days, provided that the academic calendar allows it.
SINGLE ASSESSMENT
To be evaluated with a single evaluation, you must present all the evidence provided for in the ordinary evaluation on May 20, 2026. For group tasks, if you do not have other classmates who will take the single evaluation, these will have to be done individually. In the case of the Innovation Block, group tasks will be replaced by an oral and written test.
Students opting for single assessment will not receive evaluative feedback or grading on ongoing activities completed during the course.
Reassessment for single assessment will take place on June 10, 2026, at the same time as the reassessment for continuous assessment.
