Prerrequisitos
Título universitario en Biología, Bioquímica, Biotecnología, Farmacia, Veterinaria o Medicina. Se requiere un nivel de inglés acreditado, con al menos un nivel C1 del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas.
Objetivos
- Comprender la genética básica del ratón y los mecanismos que controlan los procesos embrionarios.
- Conocer la etiología y el significado de las anomalías del desarrollo.
- Reconocer y comprender la forma, estructura, disposición y relaciones de los órganos y sistemas del ratón.
- Identificar microscópicamente los tejidos y órganos del ratón.
- Utilizar la terminología embriológica, anatómica e histológica de forma correcta y adecuada.
- Integrar la morfología del ratón a nivel orgánico, celular y subcelular.
- Comprender los principios fundamentales de la patología general.
- Identificar alteraciones estructurales de los órganos mediante histología e inmunohistoquímica para correlacionarlas con procesos patológicos específicos.

La función principal del profesor es ayudar al estudiante, no solo proporcionándole información, sino también dirigiendo y supervisando su proceso de aprendizaje. El módulo se basa en las siguientes actividades:
1. Clases magistrales: El estudiante adquiere los conocimientos científicos del módulo en ellas. El estudiante debe completar estos conocimientos con el estudio personal y autónomo de los temas presentados. La asistencia a las clases es obligatoria y se controlará.
2. Sesiones prácticas: En ellas, se acercan los modelos teóricos a la realidad y se refuerzan los conocimientos adquiridos en las clases magistrales. Al inicio del curso, los estudiantes recibirán una guía práctica que describe los contenidos de cada sesión pedagógica. En las sesiones prácticas, los estudiantes, individualmente y bajo supervisión, realizarán disecciones de ratones, el estudio de huesos aislados y la identificación de preparaciones histológicas digitales. Mediante la observación de estos especímenes, el estudiante adquirirá una visión tridimensional de la morfología del ratón, necesaria para comprender, por ejemplo, el movimiento de las articulaciones, la biomecánica muscular, la distribución de vasos y nervios, o la yuxtaposición de estructuras anatómicas adyacentes. El estudiante también desarrollará destreza manual y habilidades como la curiosidad y la observación. La asistencia a las sesiones prácticas es obligatoria y se controlará.
3. Los materiales utilizados en la asignatura estarán disponibles en el campus virtual de la UAB.

La evaluación se realizará de forma continua a lo largo del módulo, mediante preguntas a los estudiantes durante las clases y las prácticas, y supondrá el 10% de la nota final. Al finalizar el módulo, se realizarán dos controles finales: un examen oral práctico con especímenes reales (huesos, disecciones y preparaciones digitales histológicas) utilizados durante la docencia. La calificación obtenida en el examen oral supondrá el 40% de la nota final. Se requerirá una calificación mínima de 4,5 sobre 10 para poder presentarse al examen teórico, que consiste en un test de opción múltiple. El examen teórico supondrá el 50% de la nota final. La calificación mínima para aprobar el módulo es 5.
