Prerequisites

Students of this subject must be in possession of a bachelor's degree in which they have acquired the basic knowledge and skills that empower them to attend the master's program: basic training in Spanish Language and Literature or related disciplines, management of bibliographic instruments and mastery of the Spanish language that allows them to write papers in scientific Spanish.

Objectives

The objective of this module is to analyze the basic concepts of the Spanish language, ELE and Hispanic literature so that students can deepen, starting from them, in the study of the various areas covered by the master's program. Likewise, the module will provide students with the necessary resources so that they can, individually, use them to document themselves and / or gather a body of work in each of the topics studied during the master.

 

Learning outcomes

  1. Esquematitzar i comparar les idees en les quals se sustenten diferents treballs sobre un mateix fenomen lingüístic o literari.
  2. Seleccionar un tema relacionat amb l'àmbit d'estudis del màster i explicar sumàriament què es coneix en relació amb ell.
  3. Formular un pla d'acció per ampliar la informació sobre el tema seleccionat.
  4. Indagar des de quin altre camp del saber han estat abordats alguns dels fenòmens lingüístics o literaris estudiats.
  5. Argumentar per escrit i oralment unes conclusions.
  6. Produir textos escrits correctes, coherents i cohesionats.
  7. Produir textos orals correctes, coherents i cohesionats.
  8. Identificar el component de la gramàtica del qual depenen determinats fenòmens lingüístics característics de la llengua espanyola.
  9. Analitzar els factors lingüístics i extralingüístics que determinen la variació en espanyol.
  10. Diferenciar els mecanismes mentals associats a l'adquisició de la llengua materna dels associats a l'adquisició de les llengües estrangeres.
  11. Identificar la presència de fenòmens socials i històrics dins de la producció literària en espanyol.
  12. Relacionar autors i textos literaris en l'àmbit d'un gènere o corrent literari.
  13. Analitzar la relació entre diferents expressions artístiques i culturals i autors i obres literàries produïdes a l'Amèrica Llatina.
  14. Identificar i localitzar les fonts crítiques que s'han de tenir presents en l'edició d'un text.
  15. Elaborar el guió d'una exposició oral sobre qualsevol tema relacionat amb l'àmbit d'estudis del màster.
  16. Realitzar recerques bibliogràfiques i d'informació utilitzant els mitjans tecnològics propis dels estudis lingüístics i literaris.
  17. Introduir una nova idea en un esquema preestablert i ser capaç de modificar adequadament la tesi defensada en funció de les noves aportacions.
  18. Incorporar a l'estudi noves idees procedents d'altres disciplines que puguin complementar una determinada visió del problema lingüístic estudiat.
  19. Justificar els motius pels quals determinades opcions en la puntuació, en la gramàtica, en l'elecció del lèxic i en l'organització textual resulten preferents.
  20. Discriminar la pertinència de diferents punts de vista en relació amb el tema d'estudi.
  21. Explicar en profunditat l'estat dels coneixements sobre un dels temes d'estudi del mòdul.
  22. Utilitzar de manera adequada la terminologia pròpia de l'àmbit d'estudis del mòdul.
  23. Interpretar críticament la bibliografia relacionada amb els continguts estudiats en el mòdul.
  24. Avaluar la pertinència dels propis judicis i dels aliens en relació amb el tema objecte d'estudi.
  25. Establir la relació entre determinades obres literàries escrites en espanyol i altres expressions artístiques i culturals.
  26. Aplicar la metodologia de treball apresa a l'anàlisi d'un tema lingüístic i d'un tema literari relacionats amb l'àmbit d'estudi del mòdul.
  27. Aplicar les tècniques i els mètodes propis del comentari filològic de textos.
  28. Elaborar un esquema explicatiu que contingui la pròpia posició respecte a un dels temes de l'àmbit d'estudi del màster.
  29. Identify the main inequalities and discrimination based on gender that are present in society.
  30. Identify the main inequalities and biases due to gender in the fields of Spanish language and Hispanic literature.
  31. Assess the ways in which stereotypes and gender roles affect professional practice in the fields of Spanish language and Hispanic literature.

Contents

The contents are organized in three basic blocks:


 


BLOCK 1: ELE. Relations between linguistic theory and ELE teaching methodology since the twentieth century. Main methodological orientations in ELE in the XXI century.


 


BLOCK 2: SPANISH LANGUAGE. Main problems posed by the scientific study of the Spanish language in the twentieth century.


 


BLOCK 3: LITERATURE. Main currents and authors of Spanish-written literature, in Spain and in Latin America.

In the three parts of which the subject consists, expository activities will be carried out on the main points of the program.

 

Students will also carry out a series of activities directed by the teachers, dedicated to problem solving and organized debates on certain relevant points of content.

 

Finally, students must carry out autonomous activities of study and elaboration of the works under evaluation.

Annotation: within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

The evaluation of the subject will be carried out by calculating the average grade of the three evaluations that students will have to complete:

1) An ELE block evaluation (34 %).

2) A SPANISH LANGUAGE block evaluation (33%).

3) A LITERATURE block evaluation (33 %).


SINGLE ASSESSMENT: On the first day of the course, the teachers will announce the date on which students enrolled in this assessment mode must submit the activities. These activities will be the same as those to be completed by students under continuous assessment, since the competencies they must demonstrate they have acquired are the same across all assessment modes.


Use of AI: For this subject a restricted use of AI is allowed for support tasks (bibliographic search, translation, etc.). Students must identify which parts of their work have been generated with AI and which specific tools have been used. Any use that exceeds these possibilities will be considered fraudulent and may result in failure of the course.

On the first day of class, the teachers of each block will indicate the specific bibliography that will be used during the development of the program.
