Prerequisites
The subject aims to initiate second-year students of the Degree in Tourism in the terminology and economic and accounting conceptualization introducing them into the necessary knowledge to interpret the economic facts and represent the accounting process of a company and developing the necessary skills to carry out the elaboration of the basic accounting statements and training them with full knowledge and mastery of the current accounting regulations.
Prerequisites are NOT required.
Objectives
The course is an introduction to the Economic and Financial Management of the company, being the first that the students will find in the area of Accounting and analysis of the financial statements. It focuses on accounting principles, logic and how prepare the financial statements, specifically the Balance sheet, Income Statement and the Cash Flow.
At the end of the subject, the student may:
1. Understand the nature and objectives of accounting.
2. Identify the concepts of assets, liabilities and net worth.
3. Use criteria to evaluate the elements in a balance sheet.
5. Create accounting transactions and basic transactions in the accounting cycle.
6. Know the type of basic accounts, as well as their mechanisms.
7. Acquire the concepts and know the accounting and accounting cycle of the most common operations of the tourism company.
8. Define and know the classification of the annual accounts (balance of situation and income statement and Cash flow).
9. Acquire the concept of accounting standardization.
10. Know the concept and accounting treatment of value added tax.
11. Create financial statements (balance of situation and income statement and cash flow of a tourism company).
12. Determine the internal economic balance of a tourism company.
13. Know how to carry out the complete accounting process of a company (opening settlement, accounting transactions, ledger, assents of the accounting closing process, balance of sums and balances), in the accounting ledger
14. Perform an economic-financial analysis of the Balance sheet and income statement.

The course will have two very different dynamics:
a) Master classes sessions: Presentation of the theoretical content of the program in a clear, systematic and organized way by the teacher (students will have the basic annotations of all topics on the Virtual Campus of the Interactive Autonomous). At all times, the participation of students in the classroom will be encouraged; their contributions, reflections, and doubts will be valued.
b) Practical classes sessions: Students in groups of two to four people will develop a series of exercises and practical cases throughout the course (students will have the exercises to be carried out on the Virtual Campus of the Interactive Autonomous). Of these exercises and practical cases each group must present at least one exercise in class (to be determined by the teacher) at Power Point.
To guide and evaluate the group work, accreditation tutorials will be carried out on the appropriate dates.

The evaluation of this subject is as follows:
CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT
a) Exercises (30%) - Preparation of practical exercises and participation in class. Development and presentation of exercises and / or practical cases in work groups and / or individual. The teacher will give detailed information about
cases to develop during the sessions.
b) Exams (70%) The realization of 2 tests distributed throughout the course that will represent:
First partial (20%)
Second partial (50%)
Important information
To pass the continuous evaluation, the student must have a minimum average of the two exams of 5 in total. And obtain a minimum grade of the exercises in class of 5.
SINGLE ASSESSMENT
Students who have registered in Academic Management may carry out Single Assessment.
To pass Single Evaluation, students must take an exam (70%) and an accounting exercise (30%) of all the content of the subject.

RETAKE EXAM
Students who have not passed continuous assessment or single evaluation will be able to access the recovery.
The grade of the subject will be NOT EVALUABLE when the student is presented to less than half of the evaluation activities and / or does not take the final exam.
USAGE YA
In this subject, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is not allowed in any of its phases. Any work that includes fragments generated with AI will be considered a lack of academic honesty and will mean that the activity is evaluated with a 0 and cannot be recovered, or greater sanctions in cases of severity.
COPY AND PLAGIARISM
In the event that the student makes any irregularity that may lead to a significant variation in the qualification of an evaluation act, this evaluation act will be graded with 0, regardless of the disciplinary process that may be instructed. In the event of several irregularities in the evaluation acts of the same subject, the final grade of this subject will be 0.
