The course will be structured on the basis of directed activities, supervised activities and autonomous activities where students will learn to develop interactively with the contents of the subject with the support of the teaching team.

The directed activities will consist of 1) theoretical sessions guided by the teaching team, which will serve to describe the main characteristics of human geography from a global perspective, 2) in classroom practices that are designed to develop the ability to solve specific and concrete questions, as well as the ability to present the results of the same and 3) the field trip that will be carried out in this subject (togretherr with Economisa, Territori i Sostenibilitat) and that forms part of practical 1. TOTAL:46,5 hours. During the field trip, the Faculty’s Field Trip Protocol will be applied. Students will have access to specific safety documentation related to activities carried out off the UAB campus, which they will be required to read and accept

The supervised activities will be the follow-up tutorials and the resolution of doubts both of the tasks to be carried out and of other doubts that the students may have. TOTAL: 25 hours

Autonomous activities, which students will carry out without the presence of the teacher. They may be individual or in groups, depending on the tasks assigned. TOTAL: 75 hours

In order to learn how to use sources of information, students must take the course on sources of information organized by the UAB library service.

For this course, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is allowed only for completing assignments and the essay for topic 6 for bibliographic and/or information search, improvements in writing, and, if applicable, help with translation. The student must identify in the methodology the use of AI and its purpose. Lack of transparency in using AI in this assessed activity will be considered a breach of academic honesty and may result in partial or total grade penalties for the activity, or more severe sanctions in serious cases.

Annotation: within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

The ASSESSMENT will include different pieces of evidence:

- A synthesis test lasting an hour and a half where you will need to develop the topics proposed by the teachers, accounting for 25% of the final grade.

- A concept exam for each topic (except the sixth). In total, there will be 5 exams (totaling two and a half hours). Their weight in the grade (all four exams together) will be 25% of the total.

- Five practical assignments, corresponding to topics 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The first four will be solved in class during practice hours. The fifth will be done in a group and presented in class. The total weight of the practicals will be 25% of the final grade.

- An essay on topic 6. This will be done in a group, with guided follow-up from the teaching team, and will account for the remaining 25% of the course grade, completed during class hours for topic 5.

In those activities that require the use of bibliographical sources, the application of the knowledge acquired in the information sources course organized by the UAB library service will be assessed.

On carrying out each evaluation activity, lecturers will inform students (on Moodle) of the procedures to be followed for reviewing all grades awarded, and the date on which such a review will take place.

In order to pass, it is necessary to:

1) Submit the assessment activities.

2) Pass (5 out of 10) the average of the concept and practical exams and obtain a minimum of 5 (out of 10) in the synthesis test and the essay.

3) Have completed the information sources course organized by the UAB library service (present certificate).

Resit process

The synthesis test and the concept exams can be retaken as long as their average is below 5 (out of 10) and at least three have been taken. A maximum of two of the first four practical assignments can be retaken. Practice 5 and the essay for topic 6 cannot be retaken. In any case, concept exams and practical assignments cannot be retaken if, besides having a failing average, there are three or more individual assignments of each type that are also failing. Any activity that wasn’t completed during the course can’t be retaken either.

The following will be considered Not assessable

If the student hasn't submitted activities that account for more than 1/3 of the total grade.

Single assessment

This course does NOT offer a single assessment system

If the student commits any irregularity that could lead to a significant change in the grade of an assessment activity, that activity will be graded with a 0, regardless of any disciplinary proceedings that may be initiated. If multiple irregularities occur in the assessment activities of the same subject, the final grade for that subject will be 0.
