A final group project will be completed as part of the course, together with the submission of several individual and group assignments for each of the course modules. These assignments will be based on the content presented and discussed during the face-to-face classes.

The assignments will involve content analysis and the presentation of practical case studies in order to examine different perspectives on teaching and learning (T&L) processes involving children with special educational needs (SEN).

Throughout the course, a range of practical cases will be presented, and resources will be provided to support their application in early childhood education classrooms that address the diversity of special educational needs. The aim is for students to acquire a variety of practical resources that they can apply and adapt to meet the needs of children with SEN in their future teaching practice.

Both individual and group work will be carried out during class time and through independent work outside the classroom.

Annotation: within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

The continuous assessment for this course will be based on several assignments, one for each course block. All assignments must be submitted by the specified deadlines. In addition, students must submit a final Learning Portfolio, which will serve as a comprehensive reflection of all the work completed throughout the course.

If a student fails the overall course average, they will be required to complete a resit assessment consisting of a practical case study during the official resit period. This assessment will cover all the course content. In this case, the resit assessment will replace all previous assessment components, and the highest possible final grade after the resit will be 5/10 (Pass).

A grade of NP (Not Assessed) will be awarded to students who do not submit the required assignments. Students who fail to submit any of the required assignments will automatically be required to take the resit assessment.

Students who opt for the single assessment system, following the procedures established by the Faculty and after informing the teaching staff, will take a single examination on 11 June. If they fail this examination, they will be entitled to a resit during the official resit period, between 14 and 21 June.

To pass this course, students must demonstrate good general communication skills, both orally and in writing, as well as a good command of the language(s) of instruction specified in the course guide.

In accordance with UAB regulations, plagiarism or copying in any assignment or written examination will result in a final course grade of 0, with no possibility of resitting the course. This applies to both individual and group assignments (in the latter case, all members of the group will receive a grade of 0). If, during an individual in-class assessment, the lecturer believes that a student is attempting to copy or discovers that the student is using any unauthorised document or device, the assessment will be graded 0, with no possibility of resit, and the student will therefore fail the course.

Any particular circumstances, questions, suggestions, or requests should be discussed directly with the course lecturer.

For this course, the restricted use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is permitted exclusively for literature searches and information retrieval. Students must clearly identify any parts of their work that have been generated using AI technologies. Failure to disclose the use of AI in assessed activities will be considered a breach of academic integrity and may result in a partial or total reduction of the grade for the assessment.

Students will receive feedback and/or grades from the teaching staff within a maximum of 20 working days, according to the Faculty's academic calendar.
