The management of the TFG is carried out by the following bodies:

• The person responsible for the course
• The Faculty TFG committee, made up of the persons responsible for the TFG in each of the Faculty's degree programmes
• The tutoring faculty
• The TFG assessment committee

The Faculty of Biosciences website sets out the schedule of administrative and academic steps to be followed. A detailed set of regulations is also published there, from which we highlight the following:

• Each student will be assigned a tutor, who will monitor the student's work through four tutorial sessions: the first will be an initial contact session to provide the appropriate instructions for carrying out the work and to define the timeline for monitoring throughout the course. The other three sessions will be scheduled at the start, midpoint, and end of the work.
• When students enrolled in the TFG take part in a mobility programme, arrangements will be made for tutorial sessions to be held remotely.
• While carrying out the work, each student will prepare and update a portfolio containing, in an organised manner, all materials collected and produced.
• Depending on the type chosen, each student will prepare the appropriate materials in written, graphic, or digital format.
• The common format for the public presentation of the TFG at the Faculty of Biosciences will be a poster.

One of the methodologies for carrying out the TFG is Challenge Based Learning (CBL), which involves starting from a real challenge posed by an entity or institution with which a relationship will be established, and requires teamwork to propose possible solutions, planned and developed in three phases: Connection/Commitment, Research/Prototyping, and Implementation/Evaluation. Annotation: within the schedule set by the centre or degree programme, 15 minutes of one class will be reserved for students to evaluate their lecturers and their courses or modules through questionnaires.

The evaluation of the TFG consists of two parts:

1. Assessment by the TFG Assessment Committee (weight: 50% of the grade). The common format for the public presentation of the TFG at the Faculty of Biosciences is a poster, and it will be assessed by the Degree's TFG Assessment Committee, three members of which will be present during the defence sessions. Submission will follow the instructions set out in the TFG regulations. In exceptional and justified situations not covered by the Faculty's assessment regulations, a delay in submission of up to one week will result in a reduction of the grade by 2 points. No submissions will be accepted after that. The presentation will take place on a specific date for each degree programme, set by the person responsible for the course, who must also specify the time at which students are required to be present for their defence.

The Assessment Committee will meet with each student in front of their poster to discuss their work. During the time set aside for discussion, each student must have available all documentation they have produced, in case it is requested by the committee, such as the portfolio, the written report, videos, brochures, or computer programs that may be considered necessary for some project types, as agreed with the tutor.

2. Assessment by the tutor (weight: 50% of the grade). Tutors will assess the written report and the materials generated throughout the work, placing particular emphasis on the student's progress and on meeting the intended objectives. In order for the tutor to proceed with the grading, students must have completed all monitoring and tutoring activities (meetings, submission of portfolios, written report) described in the TFG regulations and set out in the monitoring rubrics.

Both the Assessment Committee and the academic tutor will submit their assessments to the person responsible for the course, who will then calculate the final grade based on the weight of each part.

Assessment requires the grading of both the tutor and the Assessment Committee; otherwise the final grade will be "not assessable".

The assessment committee may select a maximum number of projects equal to twice the maximum number of honours distinctions that can be awarded, from among the students who have achieved the best grades. Selected students who wish to be considered for the highest grade must give an oral and public presentation and defence of the work on a set date before the Assessment Committee, which will be responsible for awarding the Honours distinctions.

If a student on a mobility programme is taking the TFG and cannot attend the public defence of the posters for reasons related to the mobility coursework they are undertaking, the Assessment Committee will put in place appropriate arrangements so that they can be assessed. To make use of this exceptional measure, before the work submission deadline, the student must provide documented justification to the person responsible for the course of the reasons preventing attendance at the public defence. In addition, the student must submit the work, following the instructions that will be published on the Faculty website, and must send to the chair of the Assessment Committee all documentation relating to their TFG, prior to the date scheduled for the public presentation of the work.

Artificial Intelligence

For this course, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is permitted exclusively for support tasks, such as literature or information searches, text correction, or translations, or others at the discretion of the teaching staff.

Each student must clearly identify which parts have been generated using this technology, specify the tools used, and include a critical reflection on how these have influenced the process and the final outcome of the activity. Lack of transparency regarding the use of AI in this assessable activity will be considered a breach of academic integrity and may result in a partial or total penalty on the grade for the activity, or more serious sanctions in severe cases.

Any irregularity committed during an assessment activity (academic misconduct, plagiarism, or improper use of AI, unless such use is expressly authorized in the course syllabus) that may lead to a significant alteration of the grade will result in that activity being graded as 0. If the course syllabus stipulates that obtaining a minimum mark in this assessment is an essential requirement to pass the course, or if multiple irregularities occur in the assessment activities of the same course, the final grade for the course will be 0. Furthermore, disciplinary proceedings may be initiated against any student who incurs any of these irregularities
