Objetivos
Al finalizar la asignatura, el alumno será capaz de:
- Dominar diferentes herramientas de procesamiento primario de imágenes aéreas y de satélite.
- Dominar los principios físicos que rigen la captación remota de imágenes así como las transformaciones del contenido de la propia imagen.
- Distinguir las diferentes fuentes de deformaciones geométricas de la imagen así como las posibles interferencias en la señal captada causadas por efectos atmosféricos o de iluminación (topografía, etc.).
- Aplicar correctamente las metodologías para paliar las diferentes fuentes de error a fin de poder visualizar y extraer parámetros físicos de los datos recibidos.

PRINCIPIOS FÍSICOS
Temario (generalidades y espectro solar)
- Conceptos: radiación, onda y espectro electromagnético, polarización. Relaciones fundamentales entre frecuencia, longitud de onda y energía transportada.
- Magnitudes físicas de base (terminología y simbología, definiciones, unidades): Energía radiante, flujo energético, intensidad energética, radiancia, excitancia energética, irradiancia, reflectancia, albedo, transmitancia, absortancia; absorbancia. Magnitudes espectrales.
- Reflexión especular, difusa y lambertiana.
- Cuerpo negro (ley de Planck, ley de Stefan-Boltzman, ley del desplazamiento de Wien).
- La radiación solar. Características exoatmosféricas y a la superficie de la Tierra; interacción con la atmósfera y ventanas atmosféricas.
- Firmas espectrales. Principales características del agua, los suelos y las rocas y la vegetación en el visible e infrarrojo no térmico.
- Factores que influyen en la firma espectral registrada.

CORRECCIÓN GEOMÉTRICA DE IMÁGENES
- Necesidad de efectuar correcciones geométricas. Fuentes de deformaciones. Concepto de ortoimagen, de ortofoto, de ortofoto auténtica de ortofotomapa. Correcciones en bases vectoriales.
- Modelos físicos (ecuaciones de colinealidad, modelos orbitales), semi-empíricos (correcciones polinómicas con y sin relieve, modelos de funciones racionales, triangulación de Delaunay) y mixtos. Modelo de las imágenes radar: determinación del paso de muestreo en azimut ydistancia. Papel del relieve. Puntos de control sobre el terreno (GCP), puntos de test, puntos homólogos.
- Geometría de la imagen radar. Muestreo de la imagen. Distorsiones geométricas de las imágenes. Geocodificación precisa de las imágenes mediante Modelos Digitales de Elevaciones (MDE o DEM). Obtención de losDEM y Cartografía Radar. Aproximaciones para zonas debajo relieve. Ejemplos.
- Proceso básico de corrección. Consideraciones cromáticas, radiométricas y geométricas enel remuestreodelaimagen: vecino más cercano, interpolación bilineal y bicúbica. Consideraciones sobre la dimensión del píxel de salida.

CORRECCIÓN RADIOMÉTRICA DE IMÁGENES
1. Necesidad de efectuar correcciones radiométricas. Calibración de los sensores. Fuentes de distorsión de la señal. Conversión de DN a radiancia. Interés y obtención de reflectancias.
2. Formulación de correcciones en el visible e infrarrojo no térmico.
2.1. Papel del Sol y de la atmósfera. Radiancia exoatmosférica, Transmitancia. Variación a lo largo del año.Variación espectral.Radiaciónatmosférica difusa.
2.2. Papeldel relieve: Ángulo de incidencia, autosombras, sombras proyectadas. Bóveda celeste visible. Radiaciónreflejada vecina.
2.3. Problemática de la mezcla de sensores en un mismo estudio. Posibilidades de uso para la deducción de áreas pseudoinvariantes (PIA) que ayuden en el ajuste de los parámetros atmosféricos y en la utilización de datos provenientes de sondas atmosféricas.
2.4. Uso combinado de sensores in situ como espectroradiómetros de mano o fotómetros solares.
3. Alternativas a las correcciones basadas en más riqueza multiespectral por disponibilidad demás imágenes en diferentes fechas: ventajas y limitaciones.

Lengua vehicular mayoritaria: español (spa), aunque los materiales bibliográficos pueden estar en otras lenguas, mayoritariamente en inglés.
En este módulo se realizan 3 grupos de actividades de aprendizaje:
- Las actividades dirigidas consisten en clases de teoría y prácticas que se realizarán en un aula de informática especializada. Al inicio de cada una de las materias que forman el módulo los docentes explicarán la estructura de los contenidos teórico-prácticos, así como el método de evaluación.
- Las actividades supervisadas consisten en prácticas de aula que permitirán elaborar los trabajos y ejercicios de cada materia, así como sesiones de tutorías con los docentes en caso de que los estudiantes lo soliciten.
- Las actividades autónomas son el conjunto de actividades relacionadas con la elaboración de trabajos, ejercicios y exámenes, como por ejemplo el estudio de diferente material en forma de artículos, informes, datos, etc., definidas según las necesidades de trabajo autónomo cada estudiante.

Este módulo no prevé el sistema de evaluación única.
Actividades de evaluación
- Pequeños exámenes teóricos y prácticos (50% de la calificación), realizados durante la impartición módulo, en forma de evaluación realmente continua. Estos exámenes serán presenciales, de corta duración (aproximadamente 20'-30') y se efectuarán en el inicio de algunas clases para ir comprobando que se está estudiando y comprendiendo los temas del curso a medida que se abordan. A continuación, una vez finalizados los exámenes, se consolida lo que sea necesario en el aula con el docente, se practica más tiempo, etc. Además, los resultados de las microevaluaciones se tienen de forma prácticamente inmediata, lo que permite al alumnado tener un control muy fino de cómo lleva el curso. Esto nos acerca a una metodología docente de clase inversa, en la que los estudiantes se ahorran prepararse para exámenes parciales o finales ya que preparan las clases de antemano, se autoevalúan continuamente y así en el aula se dispone de más tiempo para resolver dudas, consolidar conocimientos y abordar todo tipo de ejercicios prácticos (pero basados en un buen conocimiento de la teoría, previamente estudiada por ellos mismos).
- Exámenes teóricos de partes específicas del módulo (20% de la calificación).
- La realización de distintos trabajos prácticos propuestos a lo largo de la docencia del módulo y entregados dentro del plazo fijado. Se valorará una presentación formal correcta y una elaboración esmerada (30% de la calificación).
En casode que no se haya alcanzadouna nota mínima de 5 sobre 10 se considerará \"suspenso\" y deberá recuperarse la actividad de evaluación.
Se considerará \"no evaluable\" tanto el estudiante que haya presentado menos de un 20% de los trabajos pedidos como aquél que no se haya presentado en ninguna de las pruebas teórico-prácticas, ya que se considera que el estudiante no ha podido aportar suficientes evidencias de evaluación.
Aspectos a tener en cuenta
- La asistencia continua a clase es altamente recomendable para el correcto seguimiento de las asignaturas. Sólo en casos de imposibilidad física de asistencia presencial el seguimiento en streaming está justificado, puesto que una parte importante de las experiencias y aprendizajes se alcanzan plenamente con el contacto con el profesorado y los compañeros de clase. En caso de que las pruebas no se puedan realizar presencialmente se adaptará su formato (manteniendo su ponderación) a las posibilidades que ofrecen las herramientas virtuales de la UAB.
- La revisión de calificaciones para cada actividad de evaluación se realiza escribiendo un correo electrónico al docente responsable para concretar fecha y hora.
- En caso de tener que entregar trabajos prácticos, esta entrega debe realizarse dentro de los plazos previstos para que sean evaluados.
- En el momento de realización de cada actividad evaluativa, el profesorado informará al alumnado del procedimiento y fecha de revisión de las calificaciones.
Recuperación
- La posibilidad de recuperación es única.
- Se considerará \"no evaluable\" tanto el estudiante que haya presentado menos de un 20% de los trabajos pedidos como aquél que no se haya presentado a ninguna de las pruebas teórico-prácticas. La nota de los estudiantes calificados con \"Suspenso\" cuando no hayan alcanzado la nota mínima en alguna actividad evaluativa será considerando la nota obtenida.
- El Equipo docente correspondiente informará de la fecha asignada para realizar/entregar la actividad de evaluación.
Copias y plagios
- La realización de cualquier irregularidad en un acto de evaluación (fraude académico, plagio o uso indebido de la IA, salvo que este uso esté expresamente autorizado en la guía docente), que pueda conducir a una variación significativa de la calificación, supone que este acto se calificará con un 0. En caso de que la guía docente prevea que para superar la asignatura sea requisito imprescindible haber obtenido una nota mínima en este acto de evaluación o que se produzcan varias irregularidades en los actos de evaluación de una misma asignatura, la calificación final de esta asignatura será de 0. Al margen de ello, se podrá instruir un procedimiento disciplinario al estudiante que incurra en alguna de estas irregularidades.
