Prerequisites
The UAB's own regulations, contained in article 5 of Annex I of the consolidated text approved by the Government Council of July 7, 2022, establish two requirements so that the student can register for the End of Degree Project:
- Point 5 states that, in order to be able to enroll in fourth-year degree courses, it is necessary to have passed at least all first-year subjects and a total number of 120 ECTS from the first three years.
- Point 7 states that, in order to be able to register for the End of Degree Project, it is necessary to have passed at least two thirds of the total ECTS of the study plan, that is to say, 160 ECTS.
The Facultad de EconomÃa y Empresa recommends, additionally, that only the student who, by passing all the subjects for which he formalises the registration, is able to complete his degree studies during the same academic year, enrolls in the Trabajo de Fin de Grado subject.
Objectives
According to Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the procedure for ensuring its quality, the Final Degree Project must be geared towards the evaluation of the knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with the degree.
The Final Degree Project constitutes the culmination of the learning process for students of the Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance and allows them to demonstrate their ability to integrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired throughout the degree program by producing an original, unpublished, and individual academic work specific to their field of study.

Contents
The Final Degree Project must be original, unpublished, individual in nature, and theoretical and/or applied, demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired by the student throughout their undergraduate studies.
For the completion of the Final Degree Project, the supervisor will provide the necessary guidance on the structure of the work according to the field of study.
In applied projects, students may formulate hypotheses supported by a theoretical framework and/or solve real-world cases or projects by applying the techniques and methodologies specific to the degree program. In theoretical projects, the student must conduct a critical review of the most relevant academic and/or professional literature on the chosen topic and provide their own well-founded analysis of the issue under study.

The assignment and guidance process for the Final Degree Project (TFG) begins with an information session organized by the TFG Coordination Office of the Faculty of Economics and Business, aimed at all students enrolled in this course. This session will explain the assignment procedure, the activity schedule, and general course instructions.
Students are strongly recommended to complete the course "Tools and Resources for Completing the TFG" by the date indicated in the TFG-related activities calendar. The techniques explained in this course are highly useful for producing a high-quality Final Degree Project.
Students will develop their Final Degree Project individually. If a student prefers to develop a different topic than the one assigned, they may submit an alternative proposal to their supervisor and request their approval to modify the initial assignment. If the supervisor agrees, the student may focus their Final Degree Project on the agreed-upon alternative topic. This change must be recorded in the Final Degree Project (TFG) platform, in the section corresponding to the first meeting. Under no circumstances may the student change their assigned supervisor.
The student will have a minimum of four individual tutorials with their supervisor, with the following objectives:
First meeting with the assigned supervisor: definition and initial focus of the Final Degree Project (TFG) in terms of objectives, methodology, information sources, expected added value, structure, etc.
Second meeting: monitoring of progress in the development of the TFG according to the plan established in the first meeting.
Third meeting: monitoring of any additional progress made in the development of the TFG according to the plan established.
Fourth meeting: public oral defense of the final version of the TFG before the supervisor.
After each meeting, the student will enter a summary of the topics discussed and the agreed-upon work guidelines into the Final Degree Project (TFG) platform. The supervisor may provide feedback and will validate the corresponding milestone. Student progress will be monitored through this platform.
Regarding the document format, students must follow the guidelines established in the Regulations for Final Degree Projects of the Faculty of Economics and Business and the instructions provided by their supervisor.
The Final Degree Project may be written in Catalan, Spanish, or English. Students enrolled in the Business Administration and Economics degrees taught in English and Economics degrees taught in English must write their projects in English.
In preparing the Final Degree Project, students must adhere to the principles of academic integrity established in the Regulations for Final Degree Projects of the Faculty of Economics and Business.
The use of artificial intelligence technologies is permitted in the preparation of the Final Degree Project only as a support tool for tasks such as information or bibliography searches, linguistic correction, translations, or other specific functions authorized by the supervisor. Students must clearly and explicitly indicate which parts of the project were generated or assisted by AI, specify the tools used, and include a critical reflection on their impact on the writing process and the final result.
In particular, the use of results obtained with artificial intelligence tools without mentioning their use and informing the tutor will be considered a situation of academic malpractice, in accordance with the Regulations for Final Degree Projects of the Faculty of Economics and Business.

The Final Degree Project will receive a grade from the supervisor. This grade will be based on the assessment of the written work, which will account for 80% of the supervisor's grade, and the public oral defense of the final version of the project before the supervisor, which will account for the remaining 20%.
The assessment of the written work will be based on the final report's submission, considering its formal aspects, content, and written communication skills, and will account for 80% of the grade. The supervisor will evaluate each of these components according to the criteria established in the assessment rubric provided in the Regulations for Final Degree Projects of the Faculty of Economics and Business.
The grade awarded by the supervisor will be the one initially recorded in the course minutes and in the Final Degree Project (TFE) platform. In accordance with UAB academic regulations, final grades are recorded with one decimal place. When the grade obtained is 6.95 or higher, it will be recorded as 7.0. In these cases, the student will be eligible to participate, on a voluntary basis, in the Poster Sessions, with the aim of obtaining a higher grade by presenting and defending the poster before the Evaluation Committee.
Participation in the Poster Sessions is voluntary. Students who, even if eligible to participate, choose not to do so will retain a final grade of 7.0. If the student participates in the Poster Sessions, the grade awarded by the Evaluation Committee will constitute the final grade for the course.
If the student does not follow the tutoring guidelines approved by the Faculty and detailed above, and the tutor does not have sufficient evidence to guarantee the authorship of the Final Degree Project submitted by the student, the tutor may decide not to assess the student's final project and assign a grade of "not assessable."
The Final Degree Project will be considered not assessable if the student does not submit the final report.
Irregularities in Assessment Processes
Without prejudice to any other disciplinary measures that may be taken, and in accordance with the current academic regulations of the UAB, if a student commits any irregularity that could lead to a significant change in the grade for an assessment, that assessment will be graded with a 0 (zero), regardless of any disciplinary proceedings that may be initiated. If several irregularities occur in the assessments of the same subject, the final grade will be 0 (zero).
In the case of the Final Degree Project, the student must respect the principles of academic integrity established in the Regulations for Final Degree Projects of the Faculty of Economics and Business, especially with regard to the situations of malpractice defined in section 7.3, which include plagiarism, falsification of data, or misuse of results, and must inform the supervisor
The completion of assessment activities is subject to the provisions set out in this course guide and in the "Policy of the School of Economics and Business on the Detection of Irregularities during Assessment Activities", which regulates the conditions under which assessment tasks are conducted and the procedures applicable in cases where indications of irregularities are detected. Students are encouraged to consult the policy.
Bibliography
The supervisor will provide the student with methodological guidance and bibliographic references deemed appropriate for the development of the Final Degree Project.
The bibliography used must be relevant to the topic of the Final Degree Project. With the supervisor's guidance, it is expected to include, whenever pertinent, specialized books, academic articles, reports and professional publications in the field of study, databases, institutional documentation, and other relevant sources of information, as well as the electronic sources consulted during the preparation of the project.

For the preparation of the Final Degree Project, students may use the software best suited to the nature and objectives of the work, in accordance with the guidance of their supervisor.
