Prerequisites
Work Placement is an optional course. To enroll, students must have passed all first-year courses and completed a minimum of 120 ECTS credits from the first three years of the degree programme.
Possession of a Social Security Affiliation Number (NUSS/NAF) and a digital certificate are essential requirements for the formalisation of the placement.
Access to the course is granted through a pre-registration process that follows a timetable established annually by Academic Administration. The timetable and the full procedure can be consulted at the following link: https://www.uab.cat/en/lletres/practiquesprofessionals
It is important to note that failure to complete the pre-registration process will make it impossible to enroll in the Work Placement course. During pre-registration, students may prioritise up to five internship placements, and places will be allocated according to the student's grade point average.
Once placements have been allocated, students must submit the Placement Commitment Form, signed by the student, the host institution supervisor, and the Work Placement coordinator, within the deadlines established. This document is required for the preparation of the corresponding placement agreement.
The registration process is as follows:
- Information session in mid-April.
- Pre-registration through Sigma (mandatory).
- Admission to Work Placements, allocation of a placement, and acceptance by the student.
- Submission of the Placement Commitment Form within the established deadlines (depending on the semester in which the internship is undertaken).
- Enrolment together with the rest of the courses.
- Formalisation and signature of the internship agreement.
Students must have completed enrolment in the course and all required administrative procedures before starting their activity at the host institution or project. For this reason, internships may not begin before early October. Likewise, they must be completed before the closing of the September assessment records of the corresponding academic year.
The Work Placement coordinator will advise students throughout the placement allocation process and on academic matters related to the course.
Students who can demonstrate professional experience related to the competencies of the course may apply for its recognition in accordance with current UAB regulations.

- Resit policy: the Professional Internships course is not eligible for reassessment.
Bibliography
Any relevant bibliography will be provided by the internship tutor according to the tasks the student is expected to perform.
Software
No specific software is required for this course, as the tools and applications used will depend on the characteristics of the host institution or project in which the internship is carried out.
With regard to the internship report, the use of artificial intelligence tools is permitted as support for writing, language correction, translation, or information organisation tasks. Such tools may not replace the student's personal reflection on the activities carried out during the internship or the analysis of the knowledge and skills acquired. Students must identify the tools used and briefly describe how they were used in the preparation of the report.
The use of artificial intelligence tools in the professional activities carried out within the host institution shall be governed by the policies, protocols, and regulations established by that institution.
